Low Vision and Blind Program

More Services

Our staff works with individuals who have low vision or total blindness to help them maintain their independence. We offer help with:

  • Access to free canes, money, identifiers, and talking books.
  • Emotional Support
  • Home evaluations, tips and tricks for increasing safety and convenience.
  • Free tactile markings for safe use of appliances and other household items.
  • Advocacy
  • Obtaining assistive technology, including talking watches, scanner readers, low vision kitchen aids and smart phone apps.

Support Groups

Groups are geared towards overcoming adversity, facing changing eye conditions, peer support and personal development. Participants are encouraged to choose topics and activities that are fun and inspirational. Group attendees are also encouraged to maintain independence though planned community activities and outings. Light refreshments will be provided as well.
