Our staff works with individuals who have low vision or total blindness to help them maintain their independence. We offer help with:
Access to free canes, money identifiers, and talking books.
Home evaluations, tips and tricks for increasing safety and convenience.
Free tactile markings for safe use of appliances and other household items.
Obtaining assistive technology, including talking watches, scanner readers, low vision kitchen aids and smart phone apps.
Groups are geared towards overcoming adversity, facing changing eye conditions, peer support and personal development. Participants are encouraged to choose topics and activities that are fun and inspirational. Group attendees are also encouraged to maintain independence though planned community activities and outings.
